Quick Reference: Chapter 1

Baker, Ray (Lieutenant j.g.) - Chief Tactical Officer on the Isannah. Has a somewhat creepy personality that almost swings into a "Surfer Dude" mentality with straight black hair and dark brown eyes.

Balur, Adrian (Ensign) - Counselor assigned to the Isannah after the Enigma Disaster. Somewhat shorter than the average human male, this Betazoid counselor has a very soft-spoken manner and the tendency to touch his fingertips to each other when speaking to someone outranking him. He has a very straight-forward method of counseling, preferring to be direct in asking what is wrong rather than wheedling things out of people. He has the typical Betazoid-black eyes and curled black hair which he keeps moderately short.

Barron - Unspecified bridge officer

Callen, Jesa (Commander) - Changeling, placed in command of the USS Isannah despite the fact command knows of her race. Long straight red hair with blue-grey eyes. Somewhat unstable with the loss of her fiancé, Becknar Gear.

Callen, Terah (Civilian) - Jesa's youngest sister, came aboard anticipating meeting Jesa's fiancé, but quickly changed her goal to attempting to help Jesa recover from his loss. Has the same long-straight red hair as Jesa, but with Betazoid-black eyes. Her unusual coloring tends to make her look more "exotic" than typically beautiful, but she has a very friendly social personality that tends to win people over very quickly.

Connolly-Grier (Admiral) - Tactical mind for Sector 118, pushed Jesa for taking command of the Isannah, for unknown reasons of his own.

Devar, Kiral (Captain) - Bajoran captain of the USS Sundstrom, former Counselor. Admiral Grier wanted his evaluation of Jesa prior to promoting her and giving her command of the USS Isannah. Although the good admiral didn't seem to take any particular heed to the former-counselor's advice.

Dixon, Daniel (Lieutenant) - Human doctor in sickbay, Gear didn't quite have full confidence in his medical abilities.

Drake, Alexander (Ensign) - Omegan, new Deck Officer assigned to the USS Isannah after the enigma disaster, chronically has problems trying to figure out just what his duties are, since they mostly fall in the grey areas. Jesa sympathizes, as Deck Officer was her first assigned position aboard the USS Isannah.

Faulk, Joseph (Ensign) - Doctor in sickbay. Human male, light brown hair and blue eyes.

F'Tel - Vulcan junior doctor, tended to cover shifts when Buck was spending time with Jesa.

Gear, Becknar Jr (Doctor, Lieutenant Commander) - Betazoid, deceased. Brilliant green eyes.

Holbrook, William (Ensign) - Chief Helm Officer, human male with medium brown hair and eyes, and a lean build. He has a tendency to be a very quiet person, not quite the model officer, but one who has instead worked hard at being factually right, rather than having the personality that gives him a more commanding presence. Good officer, but not one destined to Command, much to the annoyance of his Admiral of a father.

Keeves, Alara (Ensign) - Formerly trained as a marine, Keeves made her way up through the enlisted ranks, working through correspondence to receive certification in science. Currently assigned to science, but with a tendency to pitch in whenever an extra hand is needed. (Something the department chiefs take advantage of now and then.)

Johnson, Nick (Lieutenant Commander) - Chief Engineering Officer of the USS Isannah. His straightforward approach to things is a refreshing change to Jesa from the double-talk she gets from command and the lack of control she finds in the junior officers. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes, with the uncanny knack of being shoulder-deep in some portion of the ship every time Jesa tries to talk to him, ending up with him incurring some rather large bumps on his head.

LAURA - Ship's EMH, programmed by Buck Gear's sister, Jelandra. Her matrix has become unstable for unknown reasons.

Levin, James (Ensign) - Chief Science Officer, formerly a lawyer. Unlike most ensigns he doesn't have the same nervousness around the Captain, his prior career in law tends to make him immune to swaggering and posturing.

Lysander, Ethan (Lieutenant Commander) - Acting Captain of the Isannah following the casualties of the Enigma Disaster, assigned as XO. Lighter brown hair and brown eyes, with an average height and professional appearance. He is described as the typical first officer, somewhat quiet and observing, but fully willing to go toe-to-toe with the CO if she should decide to do something stupid. He has a reputation for being easy to approach and is suitably careful with words to attempt and give the correct impression that he knows what he's talking about. He's friends with Jesa, even beyond their working relationship, and has loyalty to her and trusts her. Just like she trusts him.

Peeko - Strange bird that Jesa reluctantly keeps as a pet, Terah sort of usurped those duties when she found Peeko wandering about aimlessly during Jesa's self-inflicted solitude. Basically a parrot type of bird, with a bare patch on the face (a few red feathers scattered about), mostly red body color with a crest of iridescent blue and purple feathers, along with accent colors of blue and purple on the flight and tail feathers.

Pullman - Unspecified bridge officer

Richards, Luke (Resigned) - Former Captain of the USS Isannah, injured on the Prophecy mission (Enigma Disaster). Friend of Jesa and Buck, and one of the few people who knew the depth of their relationship before their engagement was made public.

Rich, Darel (Lieutenant Commander) - Counselor reassigned to Second Officer after the Enigma Disaster. Doesn't get along with Jesa very well they have a serious rift over the whole LAURA incident. He's half Betazoid with dark hair, eyes, and a dark skin tone, and has a tendency to let his emotions carry him away.

Selden, Allison (Captain) - Captain of the USS Resolute, recently comissioned Akira Class ship.

Summers, Daren (Lieutenant) - Chief of Security. Human male with blond hair, blue eyes, and an overenthusiastic manner about anything relating to "famous" 'fleet personnel.

Starbase 120 - The sector presence, with a variety of Starships permanently attached to the base---the Isannah being one of those ships.

Trudeman, Ralph (Captain) - USS Havela, has been captaining that ship ever since Jesa was an ensign. He has sandy brown hair that's kept in a somewhat disheveled fashion, brown eyes, typically easy-going manner with a good sense of humor, and a ready smile in most situations. He tends to display a rather strange combination of insightful reasoning and a great deal of humor at the workings of the universe. His crew know him as an easy-going person, just so long as you don't do anything stupid.

Tyne, Victor - Prisoner. Transferred to the custody of Jesa Callen aboard the Isannah for undetermined reasons. Jesa allowed him to serve as one of the crew instead of spend his days in lockup.

USS Havela - Intrepid class ship under the command of Captain Ralph Trudeman, who also happens to be a changeling something that isn't common knowledge to the brass (unlike Jesa) and a man that Jesa strongly distrusts.

USS Isannah - also known as Izzy, Ship-of-the-Damned and a variety of other affectionate and not so affectionate names by its crew. The Starfleet ship Jesa Callen has recently been nearly forced into commanding, and suffered major casualties during the Enigma Disaster.

USS Resolute - An Akira class ship under the command of Captain Allison Selden, whom Jesa was aware of prior to witnessing the commissioning of her ship.

USS Sundstrom - under the command Devar Kiral, not present at Starbase 120 during the refit of the Isannah, the Captain was specificially shuttled in for that one evaluation.

Quick Reference: Chapter 2

Callen, Jesa (Commander) - Changeling, masquerading as human. In command of the USS Isannah despite the fact command knows of her race. Long straight red hair with blue-grey eyes. Completely unnerved at the reappearance of her fiancé, and his subsequent pushing her away and disappearing, ignoring her every attempt at communication. Forced to pretend everything is alright, because after all---he is alive!

Carl (Ensign) - Prefers to go by simply Carl, which half the crew think is his first name, and half think it is his last name. He is assigned to Security, and Jesa has assigned him to "keeping an eye" on the Chief of Security because of a recent bout of irrational behavior. He's taller than the average human, with faint forehead ridges betraying a partial Klingon background, which he takes an almost excessive sense of pride in.

Dixon, Daniel (Doctor, Lieutenant j.g.) - Human doctor in sickbay, Gear didn't quite have full confidence in his medical abilities. Brown hair and eyes with a tendency to spend his off-duty hours completely smashed, either in the local lounge or his own quarters.

Gear, Becknar Jr (Doctor, Lieutenant Commander) - Betazoid, brilliant green eyes due to Mendroziga's Syndrome, short black hair. Thin build, Burmingham accent, signature lopsided grin. Has the reputation for being somewhat blunt and unpleasant, but his staff respect his opinion and he runs it with relatively little ceremony between medics. Undergoing a personal struggle with the ideals he always held dear, and the fact he has broken them so often from being trapped into very dark places.

Holbrook, William (Ensign) - Helm officer, human male, medium brown hair and eyes, lean build. Annoyed Jesa with his bored attitude.

LAURA - Ship's EMH, programmed by Buck Gear's sister, Jelandra. Her matrix has become unstable for unknown reasons. Jesa has given the order to have her taken offline and stored with the rest of Buck's effects, something she was tending to herself.

Quentin, Matt (Ensign) - Assigned to engineering, got under Jesa's skin when he took part in a ruckus outside of her office. Brown hair and grey eyes.

Rich, Darel (Lieutenant Commander) - Second Officer. Doesn't get along with Jesa very well they have a serious rift over the whole LAURA incident. He's half Betazoid with dark hair, eyes, and a dark skin tone, and has a tendency to let his emotions carry him away.

Robinson, Alexandria (Lieutenant j.g.) - Medical officer in sickbay, green eyes and brown hair, in a permanent comatose state after the Enigma disaster.

Sherman, Damien - human male, science. Baby blue eyes, black hair, an innocent expression and great aspirations to command one day.

Starbase 120 - The sector presence, with a variety of Starships permanently attached to the base---the Isannah being one of those ships.

Stephi - Short for Stephanie. Nine year old human child, brown hair and hazel eyes, stowaway on the USS Isannah.

USS Isannah - also known as Izzy, Ship-of-the-Damned and a variety of other affectionate and not so affectionate names by its crew. Jesa Callen is currently in command of this Nebula Class vessel.
